Gites De Rouffiaguet

Recently returned from a delightful stay at Rouffiaguet. Chris and Alexandra made themselves very approachable, and provided us with local info, a rucksack, teabags and milk which was a fantastic help! The gite was also incredibly clean which makes for a very pleasant stay. We would love to return given the opportunity and have already been recommending rouffiaguet to friends and family. We were incredibly happy there and terribly sad to come back! Many thanks for a fantastic stay. Emilie & Russell 2011

From the moment of our arrival we were made very welcome. The owners (Chris and Alexandra) are very pleasant, helpful and informative about anything you may wish to ask. You may have felt the owners were not there but they did not wish to infringe or impose their presence, allowing you to enjoy your stay. However, they were always available if needed but absolutely not "in your face". Nothing was too much trouble. We arrived late on Saturday evening and hadn't bought milk. This was kindly provided by the owners so that we could get a cup of tea. The accommodation itself was absolutely perfect, spotlessly clean. The location was perfect and peaceful, a little bit of paradise. The barn had been sypathetically converted to Gites and finished to a very high standard. Chris and Alexandra had thought about everything and provided it, even down to a small torch to save you disturbing your partner during the night by putting the big light on. There was plenty to do in the area and also at the accommodation itself. The lake is just down the lane where there is a beach, restaurant, canoeing, water ski-ing, high ropes course and fishing. At the accommodation there is a lovely 12mtr swimming pool which was excellent, clean, and kept in great condition. A large sports area within the unconverted part of the barn was available to use, board games, darts, skittles, table tennis, toys, mountain bikes all available. For us, it was a very long drive from the North East of Scotland down to the Dordogne Region. Its a good two day drive each way. We have holidayed in France a number of times but this has got to be the best place we have stayed, it certainly was well worth the travelling.2011

We had a lovely stay here in July 2011. The Gite was really well done and the welcome was very warm. We would recommend a stay here. Many Thanks.
